Small space storage solutions - bedroom edition

Living & working in Los Angeles, you quickly learn that a lot of the older homes have minimal storage space. Granted we are probably working with a lot more space than let’s say New York, but it still creates a challenge and requires a certain level of creativity to maximize the space! So I am going to be sharing a few small space storage solutions that can work in any bedroom!

Storage Bench

A storage bench is one of the easiest ways to gain a little bit more space in your bedroom. It is a great place for bulky items like sweatpants and sweatshirts, extra blankets & bedding, or even shoes. Move those big bulky items out of the hanging space in your closet and the drawer space in your dresser and put them in a storage bench.

Underbed Storage

Keeping large storage bags or bins under your bed is an ideal spot for clothes or shoes you don’t need as often. Think those large winter sweaters you only wear once a year, or heels you don’t need for everyday. Keeping the rarely used items under the bed gets them out of the way so you can use your prime real estate in your closet for items you wear more often.

Slim line hangers

If you take anything away from this blog, let it be this - switching out your hangers is closet changing! When they are all the same color and type, you will immediately notice a difference in your closet without having to do anything else. The slim line specifically allow you to get more shirts or pants in the closet because they’re not as bulky as the wood or plastic ones.
