Must Haves in the kitchen
Kitchen’s are one of my favorite areas in the home to work in. They are always different -whether it's the items that people have, or the way their cabinets were built - kitchen’s always bring some kind of challenge.
I also learn a lot about how people live by working in their kitchens. For example, sometimes when clients have young kids, the kitchen can be the place your family eats, but also the hair salon as you’re trying to get them out the door to school on time!
Kitchen’s also can house those items that are only made for one specific purpose, that usually, are never used for that purpose. Like that avocado slicer you might have. You can’t tell me you are going to get that out only to slice the pieces with it, when you can just use the same knife you used to cut it open in the first place. No one has time for extra dishes!
So now I'm going to share with you some of my must-have kitchen items to keep everything in order!
Drawer Dividers
There are a few different kinds of drawer dividers that can be used in a kitchen. One is the expandable type with predetermined compartments for either utensils or kitchen tools (1). There are also the individual separate compartments you can configure together for exactly the amount, and size you are looking for (1 & 2). And lastly the large expandable dividers for deeper drawers (3). I love the versatility of them from size, to material and what they can be used for!
Tiered Shelves & Lazy Susans
I usually try to keep oils and spices together (like with like!), so I end up using these products together quite often. A three tier shelving unit can be a great solution to being able to see all of your canned goods and spices at once. The large glass bottles that oils come in are heavy, so I wouldn’t have them in a bin to pull out of a cabinet. That’s where the lazy susan can help! You can spin it around and are able to see all of your oils and vinegars easily and without straining yourself.
Risers
If there is anything I have learned from organizing a kitchen, it’s that there are never enough shelves. So one of my favorite work arounds to this is incorporating risers! They instantly give you a literal extra shelf that shorter glassware or bowls can fit on top of and then taller items can fit underneath. They also come in a number of different styles and some even are expandable.
Lid Organizer
Something that is becoming a quick favorite of mine is the lid organizer to be used in a deep drawer. This one comes with dividers that can be adjusted to accommodate any amount or kind of lid. And notice - drawer dividers are being used here as well!
