Seasons Changing

Heading into a new season gives us the opportunity to start anew! And the fall season marks the beginning of the upcoming busy holiday season for the rest of the year! The holidays can get really stressful really fast, but if we take one thing at a time, all of these tasks will be a lot less daunting. So get your pumpkin candle burning, and read up on my favorite ways to get ready for this new season!

Switch out your summer clothes

Put away all of your summer clothes that you won’t need until it starts warming up again and bring out those warmer items! This is also a perfect time to take note of what you may not have worn this summer and consider finding it a new home. And with the colder months coming up, there are always local coat drives, so while pulling out your winter wardrobe, it doesn’t hurt to think about what could be given away to a great cause.

Switch out your summer bedding

On that same note, some people like lighter bedding in the warmer months, so now would be the perfect time to get the warmer sheets and comforters out! Store all seasonal items in underbed storage bags or large storage bins.

Begin going through your holiday decor

If you’re anything like me, you have a box of pumpkins that is just waiting to come out! But you also may have decorations for the other upcoming holidays. As you’re decorating, take a peek at what you are not putting up this year and consider giving it to a friend or family member or donating it. Holiday decor is difficult to get rid of during other times of the year, so now is the time to consider what is no longer serving you and your decoration needs!

Holiday card list

If you are a family that sends out a holiday or new years card, it’s never too early to start thinking about your list! Some people get dropped off and others get added each year, so you don’t want to be scrambling trying to get everyone together during the busy holiday season. Keep them either on a Google Sheet or if you’re more of a handwritten person, any address book will do! Just write in pencil in case things change!

Recipe box

If you have a set menu of items you make every year during the holiday season, consider gathering those recipes together to save time searching for them over and over again each year. And this box accommodates adding items down the road!
